The hydraulic brakes on the golf cart are harder to interact with electronically. Our strategy includes using a linear actator to move the pedal manually.

The brakes operate similar to the steering system. It utilizes the same motor driver and uses the same car battery for power. The brakes are pulled by a linear actuator mounted behind the brake pedal. It is bolted into the pedal by a custom part manufactured by a student in shop. When the actuator is given power it either extends the arm and releases the brake or pulls the arm and pulls the brake. A slide potentiometer is attached to the side of the actuator so that we can track the positioning of it to see how much we are braking.
